How to Cut Down your Work Load in a Snap

Every office PA or Office Assistant I've met whether working as remotely, on field or at the office has some sage advice about cutting down the daily work load. And here's how to get it right:

Dedicate one hour- or even a half hour - every day and soon you'll have your work cut down in no time.

Get Ready for Tomorrow
The next workday starts the last minute you leave the office. well, at least you can suspend that thought or project for the next working day by placing the next priority task on your desk just before you head out the door.

3 Tips to Simplify your Work Life

According to the best virtual assistants in town, your first hour at the office is crucial, if you're a hot mess at the start of the work day, this mindset will definitely rob you of precious hours of productivity.

Start it Right. Make your first 30 minutes count. The minute you sit down at that work desk, gather your thoughts together for a minute or two, just relax for these first few minutes after all you just arrived from your morning commute. Once you're ready, plan the rest of your day within your first hour at work. Meaning you must set goals, an important list you can tick off. Having a list will get you to stay focus and have immediate tasks get done. Avoid responding to e-mails the minute you arrrive, you will not get things down this way, these tasks are time traps if you let them overwhelm you. Its quite easy to get stuck just replying to emails than having any major work done.

Block it and Rock it!
By planning your work day, you can block similar tasks together such as responding to emails one after the other, making outbound calls, and updating your database.

Conquer in Chunks. You must give yourself that daily ultimatum of completing at least three major tasks. You cannot leave the office without getting these out of the way. To tackle these fairly large tasks, make sure to take short breaks in between, it will give your mind ample time to switch gears.

Why I Love Dress Down Fridays

Casual Fridays are a great opportunity to express your personal fashion style. But don't forget you're still working at the office, you must still look respectable in the eyes of your peers.

You can go casual, but not too casual like your chilling in your living room couch.

Sandals, flipflops, sweatpants, low-rise jeans with thongs and tattered denims are a no-no.

Go smart casual instead.

Don't go overboard with the hats, scarves, shoes. Keep things looking professional. The last day of the work week is not a wild day out at the San Diego Comicon.

Don't come in bra-less on Dress Down Fridays, the office is not a Saturday night party at a dive bar. Also showing cleavage is tricky.

Sure it can be sexy and a welcome view for some co-workers, but showing too much can be distracting to colleagues and won't assure you of a promotion.

Like any day of the week, dressing for the office should be about looking and feeling your best. Comfort and style should go together and dressing appropriately should always be kept in mind.
